Objective

The division aims to nurture future corporate leaders with academic and practical knowledge , focus on students' potential to become global leaders, and foster the ethical mind.

The division provides various programs, including academic courses, special interdisciplinary programs, practical courses, and global education. Moreover, high-performing students are honored as Honor Student upon graduation under the Honors program in the Division of Business Administration.

Details

Introductory courses include Foreign Languages, Information, Logic, and Education; while advanced courses include Human Resource/Organization Management, Marketing, Business Strategies, Finance, Accounting, production management/Logistics and Management Information Systems.

Special interdisciplinary programs offer Creative and Ethical Management, DS/IS and Financial Honors. Other programs are divided into practical courses (Opportunities for business research, internships, and volunteering) and global education (exchange student programs, overseas research, and overseas volunteering).

Curriculum

Freshmen take Introduction to Business Management and Introduction to Management Information Systems, while sophomores take Accounting Principles, Business Statistics, Organizational Behavior, Business Mathematics, Marketing, Business Chinese, PC Practice, Management Information Systems, and Business Management (1).

The following courses are mandatory for juniors and seniors: Financial Management, Business Strategy, E-Business, Corporate Establishment, and Business Management (2). They can choose advanced classes in various fields such as accounting, finance, human resources, organization, production management, statistics, marketing, and Management Information Systems.

Creative and Ethical Management

In a rapidly-changing global business environment, the development of talents with creativity and morality is one of the most important tasks. As the source of competitive edge in the 21th century comes from creative and ethical management, it is urgent to nurture talents who can ethically conduct corporate activities in a practical way.

This program focuses not only on academic education of business management but also on the theory and practices of ethical management so that ethical business leaders in the future will be fostered with creativity based on liberal arts.

Curriculum :

student must complete common-required courses in business administration in order to complete this program. One can also complete this program by earning 30 credits or more including required courses and optional courses designated in the Creative Business Ethics Program.

Required courses :

Special lecture on creative business ethics, Business ethics, Social volunteering and leadership, Organizational behavior, Business strategy

Optional courses :

- In the Business ethics area: Business ethics, Business ethics case study, Business leadership, Digital leadership, Human relationship, Sustainable business management, Social-business start-up, Human resources management

DS/ IS Program

The objective of the DS/ IS Program is to nurture business talents capable of quantitative-decision-making, and knowledge-based engineering that befit the call of the current knowledge-based era. It provides required courses in four categories that will equip students with capabilities to succeed in the careers of consulting, e-business, business decision-making, and fund management. They can choose one or more category for selective focus. In addition, for those who wish, internship opportunities will be provided from prominent companies in and out of Korea. The four categories of the DS/ IS Program are as follows.

  • DS/ IS Program:
    • Knowledge-based management/ Information system
      - Students will learn the methodologies and strategies for knowledge-based management, and their utilization. Courses such as Knowledge and information system, Information system strategy, Consulting and establishment, and Acquisition and utilization of knowledge in companies will be provided.
    • Quantitative analysis
      - Mathematical methodology course including Statistics, Quantitative business management, Decision-making methodology are provided so that students can research and analyze information on the market and customers to forecast the future, make a business decision, and optimize the result.
    • Customer relationship management (CRM)/ Supply Chain Management (SCM)
      - CRM analyzes customer data to strengthen customer loyalty. Moreover, the data is utilized for marketing to retain and expand customers. SCM enables information-sharing among all companies that are involved from the production management to the sales. The purpose is to gain and utilize information for optimal production management, delivery, and sales. Students will take courses on production management, operation, and customer management, as well as how to run and manage relevant information system.
    • Financial engineering
      - Students will learn teengiques and methodologies to estimate, expand, and re-produce corporate value through the management of financial assets. To this end, courses on business accounting, finance, cutting-edge financial engineering are offered. In addition, students can go through courses on how to apply the basic theories in the domestic and overseas financial markets.

Finance Honor Program :

The financial industry is one of the sectors with the highest growth potential in the 21st century. Students need course that integrate business administration, economics, and statistics to become a capable talent in the industry.
The Finance Honor Program is jointly managed by the Divisions of Business Administration, Economics, and Information and Statistics. The objective of this program is to nurture competitive financial experts through the integrated education of such areas. Moreover, it supports students who wish to acquire Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and Credit Risk Analyst (CRA) licenses.

The courses offered under the program area as follows:

- Business Administration: Financial management, Accounting management, Investment theory, Futures and options, Business finance, International finance management
- Economics: Microeconomics, Financial economics, Macroeconomics, Finance and economy, Introduction to financial engineering, quantitative economics
- Statistics: Probability and stochastic processes, Time-series analysis, Regression analysis

Outlook after graduation

Students will be able to get jobs in finance, securities, information and communications, SI, trading companies, distribution, manufacturing, management and IT consulting, and overseas companies. Otherwise, they can start up their own business. Moreover, they could work as professionals by earning a license as certified public accountants, tax officers, or patent lawyers. They can also become licensed in finance and information systems. Students could become researchers in public and private organizations or professors by entering graduate school. There are many additional fields which the graduates can choose such as broadcasting.
