To include courses that are focused on discussion, presentations, and creative research
To practice English and foreign languages
To lay the foundation for interest in current issues and theories of the globalized era
The curriculum is largely divided into international politics, comparative politics, and area studies. The basic courses are similar to those of Politics and Diplomacy Division. However, instead of political ideology, it focuses on international politics and regional studies. Especially, regional studies include research on foreign history, culture, society, politics, and economy. In addition, it provides practical information on how to utilize the internet and database to organize latest data on international issues. Students also are required to learn foreign language and will have opportunities to visit overseas during the holidays.
International relations majors are capable of getting jobs anywhere that deals with international information and issues. The most outstanding jobs are those in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade or international organizations. However, there are other examples such as media outlets, private companies, the central and local governments, and the police.
When students choose to enter graduate schools, they can not only enroll in graduate studies under our division, but also schools relevant to international studies, politics and diplomacy, and regional studies in the Sinchon Campus. In the globalized era, there is an urgent need for international experts in all sectors. Therefore, the future of international relations majors is bright. However, the important thing is not what one majored in, but how well-prepared they are.
